During the 2005 season, a tailgating team that had been coming together since the inception of the Houston Texans, got a name and a logo. The Bulls & Babes Tailgating Team was born. That same season, we also won Tailgater of the Game—thanks to “Big Ed” Dworaczyk’s smoked pig. We competed on Christmas Eve, 2005, in the “Tailgater of the Year” contest. Thanks to our team utilizing resources and pulling together, we won! Add “Championship” to that name!! Until the Bulls & Babes came to compete, the tailgating teams tended to rely solely on their food to win. Bulls & Babes came prepared—with a whole smoked pig, lobster, crab, shrimp, an ice sculpture, a drink volcano, a live band, even a real Cuban cigar roller! Ken Hoffman (one of the judges and a local celebrity) wrote in his column that “the Greeks would have said this is too much!”
Since then, the Bulls & Babes Championship Tailgating Team has continued to thrive and evolve. At every home game, we always have a tent full of folks—even some in the colors of that week’s enemy. We take pride in our food (we have awesome cooks!) and in our hospitality to everyone.
